Top 10 books or poems

Using the following template make a note of your top 10 books or poems. There’s room for you to write why they’re in your top 10 – for example, do they remind you of a particular time? Do they make you feel a certain way? Share this with someone you know, have they read the same books?

Writing a poem

Patterning is making a list in which you repeat the same form of words to introduce each item. The repetition helps to release ideas and feelings. Write quickly without giving too much time for thought, and you may end up with a poem, like this: 

Today I am not going to climb a tower of anger.
Today I am not going to nag the kids.
Today I am not going to be a big soft punchbag.
Today I am not going to be a humpy camel.
Today I am not going to do any cooking.

 Now take one of the following opening phrases and write lines for five minutes:
